Rich is founder and president of Custom Tailored Systems, a Chicago based corporation specializing in networking, custom applications, and applications

over 20 years experience in the computing industry, including
application design and programming, local and wide area network support of over 1500 file servers, and network design.
Rich's mainframe experience includes
twenty years supporting Real Estate and other applications. These applications employed
the technologies of IMS, COBOL, ADF, MVS, JCL, JOL, VM, ISPF, Librarian, VSAM, IMS Utilities, IMS DBA functions, Data Dictionary, and CLISTs, among others. Recent experience includes designing and implementing an interface between SAP R3 and a legacy
application written in COBOL, IMS, ADF, and MVS JCL. He modified the IMS database structure to accommodate new SAP fields, and then made corresponding changes to the batch COBOL and online ADF applications. His experience in low level ADF is rare and
was critical to the success of the project.
Rich has extensive experience with helping customers upgrade their existing computing infrastructure. He employs process re-engineering techniques to design computing solutions which include network
infrastructure, application selections, communication alternatives, server options, and work station changes. Rich has served as one of the lead technical analysts in designing the five year computing infrastructure plan for a major Midwest
communications company. He has worked on projects to upgrade existing computing systems as well as implement brand new computing solutions for his clients.
Rich has developed a highly structured methodology for automating the five to
one hundred person
office. By applying mainframe-style discipline to personal computer and local area network installations, he is able to provide a productive business computing environment with unparalleled reliability. Custom LAN and WAN designs are a personal
specialty. His focus on Internet security is unparalleled. Rich's technical expertise includes Windows NT, 2000,
XP, 95, 98 and 3.1, OS/2, Netware and IntraNetware, and the IBM Mainframe environment. Rich is proficient in a variety of programming languages, including COBOL, Access,
and FoxPRO. He graduated magna cum laud, is a Novell Certified Netware Engineer (CNE) since 1991, is a member of the President's Club of American Management Association (AMA), a member of the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, the Association for
Computing (ACM), and also of the Network Professional's Association (NPA).
